NPUK is an abbreviation of "Nigerian Psychiatrists in the UK". It is a non-profit professional body for psychiatrists of Nigerian heritage practising or residing in the UK. NPUK strives to empower its members to thrive personally and professionally.
NPUK provides representation, advocacy, and professional support tailored to Nigerian psychiatrists in the UK. It promotes excellence, strengthens networks, and enhances members’ visibility and influence within UK psychiatry. NPUK also aims to promote the empowerment of local communities with mental health knowledge, reduce stigma and advocate for culturally competent services in the United Kingdom.
Membership is open to eligible psychiatrists of Nigerian heritage across training and non-training pathways in the UK including;
Consultant Psychiatrists
Specialist Psychiatrists
Specialty and Associate Specialist (SAS) Doctors
Trainees in Psychiatry
Trust Grade Doctors in Psychiatry
Academics and Researchers
Associate membership is open to medical students, foundation doctors, retired psychiatrists and overseas psychiatrists who maintain links with UK psychiatry.
NPUK focuses specifically on the professional development, representation, and collective interests of Nigerian psychiatrists in the UK, while working collaboratively with related organisations.
NPUK delivers:

CPD, research collaboration, and knowledge exchange
Guidance for UK training and portfolio pathways
Support for psychiatrists relocating to the UK
Strategic partnerships with the Royal College of Psychiatrists and other institutions
